EES Nano Ultra Capacitors had a higher energy density than gasoline, and almost as significantly, these cells could be completely charged or discharged in microseconds. In 2046, engineers at the University of Cape Town, in a landmark experiment, demonstrated that all of the electrical energy in an atmospheric lightning strike, over five gigajoules, could be absorbed in an array of these cells.
